Dear Tara Osborne, Bob Jones, and GSI Executive Search principals,
I am writing to offer my feedback on a recent search for a new General Manager of the Greenway Condominiums in Houston, Texas; a search that began on the last day of November, 2023 and concluded in early March 2024. I was the chair of the search committee reporting to our board of directors, a committee comprising five engaged members of our condo community.
Throughout the entire search process, from the initial screening of candidates, to the scheduling of Zoom calls and in-person meetings, to the final candidate meetings that included sessions with our department heads and board of directors, Tara was key to an orderly, friction-free process that ultimately led to a unanimous selection by the board and search committee of our next GM. Tara was open-minded and flexible, allowing us to tailor a schedule that suited everyone’s preferences. We followed an agreed-upon timeline, punctuated by weekly reports from Tara throughout.
I wish I could report as to the ultimate success and viability of the GSI-constructed methodology, but it is early days, and our new GM starts work tomorrow, April 1st, which I fully expect will not be an “April Fools Day.”
